“This business is FANTASTIC! It has been family owned for a long time. Leo is AWESOME! As a single woman I was always nervous about going to get my car serviced. I've seen on tv how so many mechanics will rack up the bill by adding stuff to the bill that was totally not necessary. Leo is 100% trustworthy. I asked him to check a few things last time and he told me the parts were fine!! He could have, and many mechanics would have, said everything needed change. I really recommend his business. “If you are reading this wondering if this auto repair shop is right for you, stop reading and call Baychar Auto. This is absolutely the best experience in automotive repair I have ever had. The staff is very courteous they walk you through exactly what repairs you need and get to them in a timely manner and the job is done right the first time. Not only that, they are honest (something I think most people fear when taking their car in). The manual quoted my job at 2.6 hours the guys at Baychar told me they think they can beat that time and if they could I would pay less than the quote. They were able to beat that time and I did pay less! They didn't try to sell some other BS repair to run up the bill these guys are the real deal. It is easy to see why they are so well reviewed and recommended. This is the only shop I'll work with for my family's vehicles from now on. Thanks Baychar”

“I’ve been coming to Baychar since 2012, with an Oldsmobile Alero, Chevy Aveo, Chevy Sonic and now my Hyundai Tucson. I come here because growing up, my family has recommended it and I’ve always lived in the area. I’ve never had my cars serviced at a big brand shop and never will, as long as Baychar is around! Leo is my favorite person, he’s always so kind and friendly and I never feel ripped off. As a woman, you hear a lot about being scammed- but I feel confident, comfortable and familiar with Baychar. My husband has even made the switch and now comes here. I love even more that our dog is always welcomed, so when it’s too hot to walk him while we wait, he can sit in the a/c with me.”

“Excellent service. I took my Jeep in for a check engine light. Cylinder 2 misfire. They diagnosed the problem and told me I was covered under my Jeep's original factory warranty and I should go to a Jeep dealership and get it fixed for free. I took my Jeep to Griffin's Jeep Hub and they were TERRIBLE. They had my Jeep for 29 days and NEVER fixed the problem. Never gave me a loaner car and wanted to charge me $40.00 a day for a rental. (that's $1,160.00 for 29 days) They told me the problem was NOT covered under warranty and I had to pay $650.00 for a 5 hour block to have their mechanic start pulling out electrical parts and start looking for the problem. I picked up my Jeep and went back to Baychar Auto. I explained the situation and they gave me a loaner car and diagnosed the problem. Faulty rocker arms. They told me they would contact Griffin's Hub and tell them what they found and get them to fix my Jeep under warranty. After a whole week of getting NO HELP they suggested that I file a complaint with the better business bureau. Griffin's Hub responded and said that they would gladly do the repair if it was covered under warranty. Then they called me and I told them that I knew what the problem was and that it WAS covered under warranty. They said NO. They told me to go somewhere else. Baychar Auto found me a Jeep dealership that agreed to do the repairs under warranty and gave me a free rental car. They even let me keep a loaner car for 2 weeks while they found the dealership that would help me and only charged me $120.00 for the diagnosis. Will DEFINITELY be returning. There are still good people in this world!”

“My car had so many problems. These guys are so friendly and helpful. I got my car back after the first issue was fixed unfortunately it had more problems so they told me to bring it back and even offered to have it towed. They had a loner car which let me continue to live my life and work. My car is out and is running great. I'm sure if I have more problems they will get it fixed. Very reasonable prices btw. So happy with the service I received. Highly recommend.”

“I work in the neighborhood and realized I had a flat tire on my lunch break. I called Baychar and they got my car in right away with no appointment. They patched my tire in about 10 minutes and only charged me $15. Great shop! Everyone is friendly and helpful. Great prices!”

“Ok I have had about 5 repairs done here on 2 different cars, one Honda and one Chevy. Every time I'm genuinely surprised to see the bill, when it's so reasonable, and so many garages and dealers are the opposite. Recently I had to get a tow for a blown fuel pump, and so I decided to try a place closer to my current home. When I saw what they quoted for the cost I was skeptical and went thru it with the mechanic at the other shop, making sure they knew I didn't need anything but the barebones replacement parts etc., and afterwards I called Baychar... 30 minute conversation (quoted cost less than half the other garage, about $800 less, even With generous labor time bc Baychar wasn't sure whether they'd need to drop the gas tank) and Baychar had their towing partner on the way over to the other shop to snatch my truck. Fuel pump was done over the weekend at Baychar, under their quoted cost. The guys who run the place are friendly and easy going on top of it all. I will NEVER go elsewhere in Milwaukee - THESE GUYS ROCK”

“This place is BY FAR the BEST car repair shop I have ever been to! I found out about this place through my family because my father, my grandma, my grandma's brother, my uncle, my cousin, and now my little sister all get their cars serviced here.

The staff here are some of the kindest people I've ever met! Always answer all of my questions and listen to all of my concerns on my vehicle. They get the work you need done on your car in a timely fashion and for an extremely fair price! I always ask for an estimate of how much I am going to pay for whatever it is I need to get done, and a few times they've even got me down to less than what they originally quoted me!

I should also note that I have been living in Chicago for the last 2 years now and STILL make sure to get my car serviced here! I'm fortunate enough to have family in the area, but even if I didn't, this is still the only place I feel comfortable taking my car!”

My previous car was a lemon, and I ended up getting ripped off for all sorts of repairs by various auto repair businesses (including Firestone). Baychar was a completely different experience. “My 2008 Chrysler needed computer work done, via the check engine light coming on. I was told by several local auto services, that it had to be done at the dealership. With that, I had an estimate which exceeded $900.00. Obviously, not pleased with that result, I called Leo at "BayChar-", and found out that they could take care of this need, for $300.00 less. Needless to say I opted in, and the repair was completed flawlessly. In actuality, I have used other entities but have never gotten the complete satisfaction derived when returning to BayChar for my automotive needs. Yes, I highly recommend them, as is the case of hundreds of other motorists.”

“No one likes bringing their car in to get work done. It can be one of the most annoying, nerve racking, expensive, confusing visits to a local establishment that you will make. Baychar makes it easy and painless. They are an honest repair shop with great customer service and they offer their services at a fair price.

I called four local repair shops to get quotes for service before selecting Baychar for my bearing replacement. Baychar offered the lowest price of the four, which was one of the biggest reasons why I selected them to service my car.

They were also very friendly, and they were the only auto shop that offered me a quote immediately as I waited for a minute or so on the phone. The other shops said they would call me back with a quote, one of them taking just a few minutes, another called a few hours later and the fourth didn't get back to me until the next day.

The last big reason why I selected Baychar is because they didn't immediately try to sell me unnecessary services. Luckily, I already knew what the issue was; I needed a bearing replacement. The other shops all told me I would probably need a hub kit replacement as well, which would have brought the cost up significantly. When I asked the guy at Baychar about this possibility, the technician responded that I will most likely not need that replaced as a hub kit replacement is usually only needed when a bearing issue is accompanied by a high pitched squeal, which I did not have. He said they will check it and let me know for sure once they get it pulled apart. Other shops also tried to tell me I would need both front bearings replaced, while Baychar recommended I wait and see if there is a problem with it after the other one is fixed. Baychar called me once the repair was finished and said that there was no need to replace the hub kit or the other bearing at this time.

The service was great, and they were very accommodating with vehicle drop-off and pick-up. Excellent customer service all around and a very good experience provided auto repairs are never fun.”

“Brought in a 95 Taurus with an engine noise either the alternator, water pump or power steering. They isolated the noise the water pump and quickly gave a quote on the repair. They were fast and efficient in their work. I recommend this place for repair.”

Started going here last summer after I heard my previous mechanic talking smack about me while I sat in the waiting room [after 10+ years loyal patronage by my entire family & many, many referrals]. Baychar always does a wonderful job, they charge incredibly fair prices [and sometimes if it's something teeny, don't even charge at all!], they're always friendly and they're always, above all, honest. They'll give it to you straight. They've told me when something is going bad but they'll be 100% honest about whether it's a necessary fix yet or not. I was thinking about changing my own brakes, but parts alone would cost me $130, plus the time & hassle [and probable swearing] involved... They quoted me just over $200 to fix it for me.
